Maggie Loh
Originally from Wisconsin, Maggie Loh has been taking photos of the world around her since she was a child. From family vacations to household objects, she has always looked for interesting perspectives in her everyday surroundings. After learning traditional photography in a black and white dark room setting, she came to Boston to study Photojournalism and Art History at Boston University.
Even in her editorial work, Maggie has always gravitated toward the study of natural light, and the shadows and patterns it creates. Light and shadow can change the everyday details that are often overlooked into stunning works of art. Strong lines and unusual viewpoints are also themes in her work, as is the beautiful and urban environment of Boston. She often spends weekend afternoons out with her camera in various areas of the city to find new images in familiar places.
